Football Kits to Uganda

One of our Committee members, Mark Gibson, recently teamed up with a charity in Africa to send some of our used kits out to a village in Uganda.

The charity ‘Mercy Hands Uganda’ has been going for 10 years and is run by Daniel & Juliette, they are Ugandans themselves but want to make a difference to those in poverty and marginalised. The kits have gone to a village called Kifumu which is 7km from Mpigi and is west of Entebbe. We have so far sent enough kits for 2 teams – one for the boys team and one for the mens team . You will however notice lots of the children don’t have boots, if you have any football boots you would like to donate please bring to the club, we are also collecting anymore used kit to send out.

The charity are working with the local school where there are 140 children between the ages of 3 and 17, the charity workers run enterprises in the local area such as a shop and keeping 1000 chickens to help raise funds for the school.

The team were keen to have an opportunity to thank Warsash Wasps for the kits, as can be seen below.
